Riot Coffee Mural Project
A little more than 2 years ago I was sitting on my walker seat taking a little rest and watched some support boards being put up on the corner of Trinity Pl and Burnside St. Whereas I was just learning how to walk the neighborhood appeared to be taking strides to beautify this corner. As of recent those boards are still there along with the amazing invisible quantum hypothetical mural. Well guess what? I am now able to walk and I’m starting to think I may also be able to build a mural that us simpletons in the 3rd dimension will be able to visualize.
Rambling tangent aside, I have created a rough draft for a simple frame design that will be fairly easy to hang and also swap out so different muralists will have an opportunity to display their work. If you are interested in contributing your art time or effort I ask you reach out to me at ztartc@gmail.com.
My current plan of action is to build a single panel model for testing. As much as I do want to eventually learn, I don’t necessarily want to go full out and teach myself a CAD program, and assuming the current boards mounted were done at least a little more than half ass’d, I intend to just tackle this with a good ole tape measure, plumbob, and other tools in my possession.
While you’re roaming around the Alphabet District why not make a stop over at Riot Coffee and take a look at the mounting boards(?) up on the wall. Sure, I do enjoy me some pressure treated lumber, and yes, the amazing properties of it is something that we should appreciate, I hope to cover them up as soon as possible with something more pleasing to the eyes.
Riot Coffee seems like a great addition to this neighborhood, a great source of hot bean juice, and possibly a great place to write a haiku.
